dismantling

... it's a gradual process this year with The Tall Guy down with the flu. My boxes are up high on a garage shelf - so my dining room table has become the island of misfit toys ...

it's kind of  sad when things return to normal - just kind of

are you a get it done kind of person or a lolligagger about dismantling Christmas? I have a neighbor who chucks her tree to the curb on the 26th - ha! Makes me smile every year.

Hi Kim! Happy New Year! I hate taking it all down, but it feels so good when all is cleaned up. We've been sick here over the holidays, so I just did things slowly. In Vegas I was like your neighbor, but here maybe because of the weather, I kind of like it up a little longer.

Happy New Year again. In between. I did it a bit early this year, then got right down to business about it....some times I languish. xox

I guess I'm a bit of a lolligagger...I enjoy all the decorations, especially the tree and its lights. As I pack things away, I like to take my time and think about where each item came from. Happy New Year! BTW, the Beach and Mermaids wall hangings were a big hit with the friends I gave them to. :)

My photos were much the same -- and while I wish I could do it on the 26th, it happens only gradually. We now have everything in boxes, and the boys have to take them up into the attic at some point over the next couple of days.

Slowly over January starting on the fifth....piece by piece goes back to the Holiday box. Just as the weather outside, change is a constant indoors too.

We usually wait until New Years Day but this year we put it all away on the 27th. With J having her bday on the 30th we usually leave it up to her.

took everything down a couple of days ago...I like to wait a little bit after christmas...there's such a build-up to the day - I don't want it over with in an instant!

I'm a GetRDone kinda gal. My personal 'rule' is to have Christmas up by the first week in December and taken down by the first week in January......The going up part is so much easier than the putting away.... I think because the going up part is actually fun! Hugs! deb

All depends on the help available, ha! Today no school because of the cold so I think we will do it in a day. But, never until after Epiphany. I love all the decorations and atmosphere!

Since David and I always travel at Christmas, my decorating has been getting simpler and simpler. It is all down as of last weekend, except for the glorious poinsettia that I bought to decorate the table which is still gracing us with its beauty.
Enjoy the new !

We are finally taking ours down today, during halftime of the playoff game. It's hard to say "goodbye for now" to the ornaments and lights, as well as this year's tree - it was a big, wide, beauty. But it also feels kind of cleansing, sweeping up the pine needles and putting things back to their usual places in the living room. I'm ambivalent about it. Hope your tall guy is up and feeling better soon!
